Professional Experience:

 

Sylvia spent 5 years working at Deloitte & Touche - Barbados after transferring from the Deloitte & Touche - Ottawa practice.  She was a Senior Manager of the Audit & Advisory Division where her focus was on audits, tax and international services to both local and offshore companies.  Her extensive portfolio included multi-national organisations which necessitated the completion of several overseas assignments.  In May of 2003, she was seconded to the telecommunications company Cable & Wireless for a 4-month period and subsequently joined that Company in the capacity of Manager of Financial Operations.

 

Since starting Hobbs, Niles & Co., Sylvia has continued to provide audit, accounting, tax and advisory services to a wide cross-section of local and international businesses.  She is responsible for Human Resources within the firm ensuring that staff are adequately trained and are kept up-to-date with audit and accounting standards.
